SQCUAT

Privacy Policy

Effective September 12, 2026

Sqcuat ("we," "us") is a small app that reminds you to move after meals and verifies squats using your device's camera. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to reach us about it.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your email address and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
  • A display name, and your timezone.

As you use the app, we collect:

  • Squat session records: rep count, whether a set was verified, how long it took, and when it happened.
  • Meal log timestamps, and the reminder times we compute from them.
  • If you enable notifications, the browser push subscription details needed to send them.

About the camera

Squat verification runs entirely on your device: your camera feed is processed locally in your browser to count reps, and is never uploaded, recorded, or sent to our servers. The only thing we store is the result — a rep count and a timestamp, not any image or video.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Run your account and keep you signed in.
  • Track your squat history, streaks, and level progress.
  • Send you a reminder notification after a meal, if you've enabled them.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Neon) and the app is served by Vercel. Push notifications are delivered through your browser's own push service (for example, the one built into Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) — that's an inherent part of how web push works, not a service we chose to share your data with for any other purpose.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. To request a copy of your data or to have your account and data deleted, email us at privacy@sqcuat.com.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your device and our servers. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children's privacy

Sqcuat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above.
